Royce (Boston T. Party), is a libertarian philosopher. This book focuses on how he believes that Alexander Hamilton and the Federalists "stole" the American Revolution by intentionally creating a federal government that would grow out of control.The book goes into great detail about the drafting of the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution, the ratification debates, and objections that the Anti-Federalists had. In particular, the warnings from Patrick Henry about the dangers of having decisions of the federal government reviewed by employees of the federal government (including the US Supreme Court) was eye-opening.
Royce also talks very candidly about things that many readers will find "out there" like secession, revolution, and the like. Although well-researched, this is a strongly libertarian book, and the author's beliefs come out quite strongly throughout the text. But, I think if you order this book you were expecting something along those lines.
At times (particularly the treatment of the 16th Amendment and taxes) the book can get tedious. Huge block quotes that probably could have been edited down, and some subjects are a bit beaten to death. But, I still consider this a 5-star book because the quality of the research is excellent, the thinking is VERY deep and profound, and it is a subject almost no other authors since Lysander Spooner in the mid 19th century have covered.

Probably one of the best of it's kind (and so deserving of all the 5 star ratings here), I found this unapologetically intelligent and partisan book to be an engaging and delightful read, full of clear and important information, relevant quotes and an inspired yet sober call to action. Never has it been made so clear to me how the Constitution was not an improvement on the Articles of Confederation (besides being of questionable legality), and how the urbane Founding Lawyers knew exactly what they were doing (securing their ideal elitist statist/mercantilist nation through eventual loose and creative interpretation of their document).
This is a great book for any liberty loving person to absorb, although it probably won't make you feel good. More like sober and depressed, but there are some chances for positive change remaining to us (beside the fact that most Americans love the current welfare state), such as pushing for constitutional amendments from the state level, pursuing the Great American ideal of civil disobedience, and taking the risk in our daily lives to be real patriots (not just safe, fair weather ones).
This is not a book to pass up; well written, informed, intelligent, witty and still (maybe just) timely.

....I just got out of a fetal position on the floor and can't really move much. I read this book, and it hit me like a comet. Talk about a needed wake up....
First I'm glad I'm about to turn 45, not 25. I love life, but don't know if I want to be on this earth for too many more decades. I feel betrayed by everything. I can't watch TV. I don't want to leave the house. I need a good unicorn chaser. Maybe some Barney the Dinosaur? Maybe look at some photos of puppies? Maybe get back in the fetal ball and pet my cats some more?
If you ever saw the movie "Conspiracy Theory" with Mel Gibson, and spent the first fifteen minutes thinking, "Well, maybe the protagonist isn't just paranoid...Maybe this is actually *going* somewhere...." Well, that's how I feel right now. Sick to my stomach and maybe that's a good thing. The first step to recovery....lol. Let the healing begin!
I'm glad I live in America, but it really *is* just "the healthiest patient in the cancer ward." And maybe everything they taught me in grade school is wrong. That's a sad realization. I've realized it before, probably IN grade school, but never really *internalized* it until this month.

I have been reading and researching "conspiracy facts" for about 10 years know and this book, Hologram of Liberty is in my top 5% of the best books I have read.
The author, Kenneth W. Royce does a great job in researching and writing this epic. He lets the constitutional framers, I mean constitutional lawyers tell you their motives behind the constitution. The United States constitution is a 'mirror' opposite of what American's are spoon-fed on the media and at schools.
Find out who "We The People" are and the difference between 'The United States' and 'The United States of America'.
The US constitution is arguably one of the greatest frauds perpetrated on the american people. I use to look up at the US constitution as a symbol of liberty and freedom but after reading this book and 10 years of conspiracy research the US constitution was not written to give anybody freedom or liberty except for the small cabal behind it and the institutions that were set up after it was written (all powerful federal government encompassing all aspects of everybody's lives).
